Conclusion :
The

Saturated crystals

Aim: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals
Definition of solution
A liquid mixture, when something is dissolved into a liquid (eg: sugar in water)

Definition of saturated
Having or holding as much as can be absorbed of something (when no more sugar or borax can be dissolved into the water)

In groups of three you will make three different types of crystals and compare the results.

Ratio; 3 Tablespoons Borax per 1/2 cup water

Materials

1) borax
2) hot water

3) a cup
4) pipe cleaners

5) stick

Process

Step 1: get 3 tea spoons of borax
Step 2:Add hot water
Step 3:mix with stick for ten minutes
Step 4:make a star shape with a wire
Step 5:use a peg to hold the star but beneath the water
Step 6:put the Star beneath the water

Sugar Crystals

Grow your own Sugar Crystals
G

Ratio: 1 cup sugar to 1/2 cup water
Materials

1) sugar
2) hot water
3) stick
4) string
5) a cup

Process

Step 1: get sugar
Step 2: add hot water

Step 3: stir
Step 4: add string to stick
Step 5: put stick over cup so string goes into water
